Brett "Stiletto" Young of 3D Realms jumped into the Final Round, racking up 55 kills. Not bad considering the other players had played this level all day and Brett didn't know where all the "toys" were. Thanks Brett. |
These guys went through several rounds of tough play until eventually we had
eliminated all but 7 of the BEST players. The field was smaller than the first
tournament but more competitive. Halfway through the final round, Rockin'Dog
held a substantial lead. Before the first round of the tournament even began,
Rockin'Dog had proclaimed that he would win it all - and it sure looked like he
would. But then, I watched Boogieman rack up 6 kills in under 30 seconds and
move in to second place. Rockin'Dog went scoreless the next 3 minutes as
everyone ran from the guy in the blue pants. Nilrem stayed competitive through to
the end as his laser trip bombs kept his kills high even as he struggled to use the
rocket launcher against a squatting Spoonman. Spoonman came on late with
multiple kills in the final minutes to seal the 2nd place spot.Some of the extra prizes that went out to these three guys include Official Duke Nukem 3D
